Lugging Around Match Gear

The Way of the Multi-gun takes a moment to discuss options for lugging around gear at a match.  If you’ve been to a match, you know what it’s like to carry your gear with you all day.  It doesn’t get any easier when it comes to 3-gun.

Carts are useful in certain situations, but mud and stairs render them more of a hindrance than a help.  I prefer backpacks and it seems that the author is with me.  He recommends an interesting backpack from Eberlestock called the Gunslinger:

With an added side scabbard, he can carry both long guns:

I don’t think that scabbard will work with the high-cap RCI shotgun mag, but it looks like a pretty neat system.

  1. Thanks for the link!

The Eberlestock packs really are good. If you're in the market for one, look at the
Gunslinger II, it's got a couple of nice features that aren't on the Gunslinger pack.

As for the shotgun scabbards, they definitely wouldn't fit one of the shotguns with an
X-Rail installed. However, since I don't shoot Open Class, that's not too much of a
    problem for me.

The scabbards are really meant to be used with a shorter tactical/defensive shotgun,
rather than the longer guns that are popular in 3gun. I don't know if Eberlestock makes
    a longer scabbard.

Regardless, they're still great packs, and as long as you cinch the belts tight on the scabbard
I don't think you'd be too likely to lose your shotgun.
